DES LEADERS de la communauté haïtienne de Miami écrivent au Maire de City of Miami lui demandant d'empêcher que cela ne se fasse.

May 13, 2022

Honorable Francis Suarez
Mayor
City of Miami
3500 Pan American Drive
Miami, Florida 33133

Dear Mayor Suarez:

We write this letter to express our concern over the scheduled visit of former Haitian president Michel Martelly, alias Sweet Mickey, at the Cultural Center in Little Haiti on May 18-21, 2022. Haitian Flag Day is honored every year with cultural celebrations in Haiti and in the Haitian Diaspora.

The Cities of New York and Montreal have declared Michel Martelly persona non grata for violent crimes (kidnappings/gangs related crime) committed against innocent Haitians, men, women, and children. He is reportedly one of the major gang leaders that currently terrorize the Haitian people.

We vehemently oppose his presence in Little Haiti.

Consequently, we ask you, as members of the Haitian communities in Miami, to declare without equivocation Michel Martelly person non grata in the city of Miami for crimes committed against the Haitian people. For further information, please contact the following citizens at: 786-587-5384

We hope and trust that you will heed our request.

Sincerely,
